Might have to go there for a conference for work next month. Starts on Tuesday ends on Thursday so I presume I will be flying Monday and Friday.
Looking at flights and I want to choose United since they are my airline of choice, but the times aren't really convenient. Looking at US Airways and Southwest. Both will get me there at a good time, but since I have to connect on US, but southwest has a nonstop plus I could use some rapid rewards points since I am getting somewhat close to a free flight I will probably go with southwest. They have the added benefit of being the cheapest by 10 dollars if I include a bag fee on US.
It is at the Catamaran which is across the bay from sea world. Tuesday and wednesday is an all day conference so in the evening I may just walk around Mission blvd and the beach and do some sightseeing. Thursday the conference ends at noon so I want to hit up sea world in the afternoon.
One thing I won't be renting a car. I travel for work like I do for lesure. Frugally and easy. Driving in San Diego is a pain in the ass. Traffic and parking would stress me out. I won't even take an airport shuttle. Don't really trust them. I fear they will forget about me or something. The only airport shuttle service I trust is the las cruces shuttle.
I will buy a week bus pass. Looks like I can take a bus from the airport to downtown, then rail to another station, then bus to my hotel. From the hotel I can take one bus to In N out, or one bus to sea world as well.
How reliable is public transportation in San Diego? From what I see on google maps it seems like the buses run like clockwork. Nice and reliable every 15 or 20 minutes.
So sea world is like a zoo or something? Do I pay one admission price, then walk around for the afternoon?
