Representing The 505 at NMSU

Much as been said about UNM wining the instate recruiting wars--however the times are changing and NMSU is keeping home-grown FB Home. takes a look at the key instate Aggies who'll shine in 2006

Here's a look at the key in-state players who'll led NMSU to the top of the WAC

WR Tim Tolbert-Las Cruces,NM
A three-year starter at NMSU, Tolbert is a beast on the outside, with great hands, tolbert will be hard to stop in 06. Last year Tolbert played in eight games for the Aggies in 2005, catching 31 passes, fourth best on the team, for 358 yards and one touchdown. He averaged 11.5 yards per reception, while recording six games with at least three receptions. Tolbert missed 5 games in the middle of the season due to a shoulder injury.

WR Chris Williams-Rio Rancho,NM
Chris will be starter for the Aggies at the outside wide receiver position along with being the Aggies top punt & kick returner. As a Freshman in 05, Chris played in ten games, while starting in three of those games for the Aggies. He gained 12 yards rushing, caught the ball 12 times for 97 yards, and had a total of 207 yards on kick returns. His longest kick return came against nationally ranked Cal (9/23) when he ran the ball back 94 yards for a touchdown. That return was featured as one Chris Berman's ESPN Play's of the Week.

WR-Drew Thatcher-T or C,NM
Drew will add depth to the Aggie Air Raid attack in 2006. in High School Drew was a tight end for the Hot Springs Tigers. he turned down UNM to play at NMSU

TE Ryan Franzoy-Hatch,NM
After redshriting in 05 to learn the Air Raid system Franzoy will give the Aggies' passing attack a big target over the middle in 2006.

DE-Brandon McKinney--Rio Rancho, N.M.
A two-year starter for the Aggies, McKinney will move from linebacker to DE in 06. a difference maker at left end. He's a tackle-sized 6-3 and 290 pounds with soild moves.

DT-Skyler Sargent--Albuquerque, N.M.
An All-ABQ player who passed on UNM to be an Aggie Part tackle, part end, the 270-pound Junior is experienced one the right side and was one of the few veterans up front starting last season. a soild player on the DLine

OLB-Nathan Nuttall--Clovis, N.M.
Named a captain by his fellow aggies, Nuttall will be a playmaking pass rusher on the right outside position. He's only 6-0 and 225 pounds, but he's fast enough to be a very disruptive force.

MLB--Ross Conner--Las Cruces, N.M.
Could be the one who replaces Jimmy Cottrell ( who's in the NFL ) redshirted last year, but in High School, Conner was a three-year letter winner at Mayfield high School in Las Cruces.

CB-Alex Bernard--Las Cruces, N.M.
Bernard was a all-state high school receiver who's finally getting the hang of corner. He struggled a bit last year on deep passes, but now he has the experience to make more big plays.
