Aggies Roll over LTU 50-23

Chase Holbrook passed and ran for four touchdowns and set a pair of NCAA records by a sophomore in New Mexico State's 50-23 win over Louisiana Tech

In a meeting of Western Athletic Conference Teams, New Mexico State (4-8, 2-6 WAC) finished the season with a two-game winning streak, the Aggies' first in two years. Louisiana Tech (3-10, 1-7 WAC) lost its fourth straight.

Holbrook extended his school record for TD passes in a season to 34 with scoring passes of 63 and 6 yards to Derek Dubois and 15 yards to A.J. Harris. Holbrook, who scored on a short run in the fourth quarter, accounted for 38 TDs this season and set another school record with his 10th 300-yard passing game.

Holbrook also set some NCAA records by a sophomore for passing yards and total offense in a season. His 4,619 passing yards surpassed the previous mark of 4,560 by Ty Detmer of BYU in 1989 and Holbrook's total offense of 4,541 yards broke the previous mark of 4,469 by Hawaii's Timmy Chang in 2002, at his current pace he'll be NMSU's all-time leading pass by the end of next year and will beark all of Timmy Chang's NCAA passing records by week 5 of the 2008 season

The Aggies also had 4 rushing TDs, two by David Romaka , one by Nwoko, and another by Holbrook.

PK Matt Pratt also hit a 30-yarder in the third quarter which was the first field goal by the Aggies in five games.

Louisiana Tech, got 23 points mostly due to a pair of fourth quarter touchdown passes from backup quarterback Michael Mosley to Bryan Carroll and Dennis Morris; a 3-yard TD run by Patrick Jackson and Anthony Moss' return of a blocked PAT attempt by NMSU.
