Eye On Recruiting: Ridge Jones

It is all about speed when talking to this young man that is currently down to three schools.

That is Ridge Jones game and he plays just like he is interviewed, fast and to the point no messing around, no hemming and hawing. Just catch that jet stream and we are off. Jones has already visited both Wyoming and Louisiana-Monroe when he started hearing from the University of New Mexico.

"Coach Davie was the first coach I started hearing from in New Mexico. Really liked what he had to say and wanted to take a look."

And that is exactly what the 5'11" 165 Wide Receiver from DeSoto Texas is doing, as he is currently on his 3rd official visit. This time to the University of New Mexico, as he has already visited both Wyoming and Louisiana-Monroe.

Two things Ridge Jones doesn't lack are speed and confidence!

"I'm a wide receiver and my strengths are speed," exclaimed Jones! I asked Ridge what he felt he needed to do to become a D-I athlete. "I'm already a D-I athlete, but I do feel I need to work on everything, just to get better."

It was falsely reported earlier this week that Ridge had committed already, the Scout.com network got involved and discovered that rumor was false right away, so I did ask Ridge what he was looking for in a school. "I'm looking for a school to play football, run track."

The decision on which school he will attend might be the slowest thing about Ridge Jones, but take heart sports fans Ridge Jones said we should expect a decision coming from in the next couple of weeks as he finishes off the last of 3 trips.
