NMVarsity.com: Mike Love Update

Lobo Training Camp received a visit from one of the local recruit.

Albuquerque/Rio Rancho High School is blessed with some really good running backs this year and one of the top running backs if not the top is Rio Rancho High School's Michael Love.

During today's Lobo practice I notice Mike Love standing on the sideline studying the current Lobo football players running the "Lobo Drill" (2 receivers blocking a corner and safety on a pitch plays.) So the timing was excellent to go out and speak with Mr. Love about his upcoming football season at Rio Rancho and how his recruiting has come along since this summer.

Mike last we spoke was at Lobo football camp where you received a scholarship offer from Coach Long. Did you make any other camps this summer?

I went to the New Mexico State camp that they held in Rio Rancho.

Mike you are preparing for your senior season at Rio Rancho, how do the Rams look this year?

I think we are going to be pretty good this year. Our offensive line is really stepping, our QB is looking good, everyone is really looking good and I feel we have a good chance to go all the way this year.

Mike last year you played behind Chris Williams who ended up at NMSU, this year you are the #1 back this year at Rio Rancho…

It's a little rough at first… the pressure in being the #1 guy. I think I can handle it because I have experience even as a freshman I ran back kicks so I can step up to the challenge.

What schools have offered you so far?

New Mexico, New Mexico St., and I'm expecting an offer from UTEP

Any favorites?

Thanks Mike I'll let you get back to studying Lobo practice...
