Landry Fields

UNM has another basketball recruit visiting this upcoming weekend and TheRedMenace.com would like to introduce you all to Landry Fields.

Los Alamitos HS has a fabulous talent in 6'5 shooting guard Landry Fields. Landry is good student and very talented player and has already been named as one of the best shooting guards in the west coast. TheRedMenace.com ‘s John Salazar recently had a chance to visit with Landry Field's High School Coach Russ May.

TRM. Coach, what is Landry's current height and weight?

RM. He is 6'5" and weighs about 175.

TRM. What position does he play for you?

RM. He plays the 2 spot (shooting guard).

TRM. What kind of skills does he posses?

RM: Landry is a phenomenal shooter. He has a great feel to the game, and he possesses all of the intangibles you like to see in a player. Now he is a pure shooter but in the last year he has developed an all around game, he can handle the ball, he can get to the hoop and finish strong, he is great at coming off of screens, and moves well without the ball. He can also create his own shot.

TRM: Who besides UNM is currently recruiting Landry?

RM: Stanford, Gonzaga, Creighton, Cal, and Virginia.

TRM. How interested do you think Landry is in UNM?

RM. I think the fact that UNM is the first school he scheduled a visit to speaks to his interest in UNM.

TRM. How has the UNM staff done in recruiting Landry?

RM: Ritchey McKay has been outstanding. I really appreciate him and I have been really impressed with him and his staff. They have been on top of it every step of the way.

Thanks to Coach May for taking the time to educate Lobo fans about his star Landry Fields. For those of you that aren't aware of it, Landry is scheduled to visit Albuquerque this coming weekend, if you happen to see Landry around town or on campus give him a huge Red Menace welcome.
