A Great Start For UNM

Abbie Letz is back to playing and the Lobos continue winning.

The UNM Lady Lobos played a fairly well rounded game beating the Metro State Roadrunners, with a score very similar to their last game vs. Ft. Lewis, 77 to 50.

Dionne Marsh was the player of the game with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Coach Flanagan started the same players as he did in the last game, Dionne Marsh, Jana Francis, Katie Montgomery, Judy Vogt, and Julie Briody.  The Lobos went into the locker room with the game in their pockets with a 39 to 28 lead over the Roadrunners.

In the second half Coach Flanagan switched out Judy and Julie and put Abbie Letz and Brandi Kimble in the starting line up.  Midway through the second half the Lobos caught fire and held the Roadrunners scoreless for over eight minutes with a 13-0 run.  Six of those points coming from Brandi Kimble as she finished the evening with 12 points, seven rebounds and the most playing time with 30 minutes.

During the second half the Lobos only let 22% of the Roadrunners shots go in.

Rachel Majewski sat in street clothes on the bench and did not play due to injury.

The Lobos will start their regular season play on Friday, November 11th at 7:00.  They will be up against Oral Roberts and it should be a great game.
