Kevin Lopina to New Mexico?

The University of New Mexico hired a top notch Offensive Coordinator this year and quarterbacks across the country are taking notice. .

TheRedMenace.com has learned that is between the University of New Mexico and San Diego St. for the services of Kansas State transfer QB Kevin Lopina…

Lopina a highly touted quarterback out of De la Salle HS in Concordia CA spent a year in Manhattan and decided to transfer after K-St. coach Billy Snyder announced his retirement. In a letter to the K-St. fans Lopina cites two main reasons why he decided to leave K-St.

  1. Coach Snyder & his staff's departure.
  2. My desire to be closer to home. (Several schools out west run KSU'S new offense.)

I wonder does anyone know a former Kansas St. coach?

Coming out of De la Salle HS the 6'-2" Lopina was being recruited by Oregon St., Arizona St., and went on a trip to Kansas St. where he eventually signed.

Some high school numbers on Kevin. Lopina passed for 661 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 233 yards and seven touchdowns last year before suffering a season-ending ACL injury. After recovering from his injury Lopina is still clocked at a 4.6 40.
