More Info on Bryant Williams

Some background information on Bryant Williams from the head coach of Coffeyville CC.

Lobos fans have been anxious for the first Lobo football commit of the '07 season, and with the turnover set to take place in the WR corps, it only makes sense the first pledge would be a wide receiver. His name is Bryant Williams and I had a chance to speak with Coach Jeff Lieker of Coffeyville CC about is "go-to guy".

TRM: Coach could we get an accurate height and weight for Bryant?

Leiker: Sure, he is 5'10" 185lbs.

TRM: Coach, it looks like, based on his stats that you have a run-oriented offense.

Leiker: Well actually, we'd like to throw the ball more but we are starting 5 new offensive linemen, and a new quarterback, so our passing game is a work in progress. Bryant is our go-to guy when we can get the ball to him. He had a touchdown called back last game due an O-Line penalty, so we're working to getting our passing game better. Anyone who sees him practice would be interested in Bryant, but on game day it's been a little difficult.

TRM: So who handled the recruitment of Bryant?

Leiker: Well, Coach (Dave) Baldwin placed Bryant here out of Minnesota when he was Offensive Coordinator at Michigan State and they have stayed in touch when he moved on to New Mexico . Bryant traveled to Albuquerque for the UNM/BYU game and since he was comfortable with Coach Baldwin and liked the school, he committed.

TRM: When will Bryant be on campus?

Leiker: He is on schedule to graduate in December and three years to play three.

TRM: Thanks Coach

Just some background information on Bryant Williams: Coming out of Edina HS (Edina MN) Bryant was recruited by Michigan St., Iowa, Iowa St., Georgia Tech, and Minnesota.
