Eye On Recrutiing: Karim Jones

Karim Jones is a big physical Wide Receiver. Go inside to hear what he has to say about the latest on his recruiting.

Karim Jones is big wide receiver that loves to get physical, and why shouldn't he. I've seen Jones listed at 6'4" and 6'5" but the big wide out from Maryland said that, "I am 6'3" 210 right now."

#4 Karim Jones

Jones is listed as having a 4.62 forty time, but make no mistake Jones' game is all about being physical. "I'm a specialized 3rd down guy," says Karim Jones. "I like catching the ball using my body, catching the ball in short yardage and getting the hard yardage. Personally I love jump balls, I'll go after all passes thrown my way and get them, I also like to block for running backs, I like getting physical."

This qualifies as a jump ball and getting physical!

Jones also knows what he needs to work on this coming year, "I'm not going to lie. I need to work on my speed," says Jones. "I'm will be running track this year and will continue to work on all parts of my game."

Karim did tell us that he received his first D-I offer from the University of New Mexico a couple of days ago. "I spoke with Coach J (J.B. Gerald) and New Mexico has given me my first official D-I offer," said Jones. "I didn't really even consider them at first, but I have some friends that I grew up with and played football with down there and they tell me a lot of great things about New Mexico. I also like the coaches."

Along with New Mexico Jones is receiving interest from Connecticut, Rutgers, and Boston College, and also a handful of smaller division schools like Monmouth, Delaware, Liberty, and Towson St.

#25 Karim Jones

"I probably won't make my decision till basketball season starts," says Jones. "That allows me to explore all my options."

I did tell Karim that we will be following his recruiting from now on and he did express his thanks to all the fans that are following him now.
