Corona Centennial High School's Dominique Dunning (2011) and Chris Perez (2010) made it out to Albuquerque for the "Lobo Weekend" as both young men not only received their fill of Lobo sports, but also were able to meet with their future fans, as both young men were able to check out the entire sports scene in the 505.
TheRedMenace.com reported in August that Dunning gave his verbal commitment to the University of New Mexico and Coach Steve Alford. We found out earlier this week that Dunning along with Centennial teammate and future Lobo walk on Chris Perez were hitting the 505 on an unofficial visit for both young men…
I had a chance to speak with ‘Nique after his first visit to The Pit as Friday night he and his father attended the Lobo women's hoops game. We spoke with ‘Nique about his early commitment, The Pit, the Lobo coaching staff, and his visit

Saturday morning ‘Nique was joined by friend and high school teammate Chris Perez for a full day of Lobo sports as both young men along with their fathers were spotted walking around the sports facilities tailgating with Lobo fans awaiting the big football game with conference rival BYU.
Later the hoops stars of the weekend were spotted in the North End Zone hanging out with the crazies of The Red Menace! Later the fellas once again hit the tailgating lot as Lobo fans were once again tailgating for the start of the 2009-10 Lobo men's basketball season.
I was able to speak with Chris Perez 6-0 180lb guard who has decided to walk-on and play for UNM next season.
Both young men capped off their visit watching their future teammates decimate the UC-Riverside Highlanders in The Pit while being part of Section 26! Both young men could be seen standing, clapping, and cheering, and both were shocked to find out that Saturday's game with a "mellow one."
We want to thank both the Dunning and Perez families for spending time with us and welcome them to the 505!
