With a 2-0 start to the 2010 season, NC State has posted its best opening record since 2002. That season, the Wolfpack won it's first nine games behind junior quarterback Philip Rivers.
No rest for the weary
NC State will charter back to Raleigh following tonight's game, with an expected arrival time of 3:15 a.m. In less than five days, the Wolfpack will host Cincinnati in a Thursday night ESPN contest.
Czajkowski Adds to PAT streak
Senior placekicker Josh Czajkowski added to his school-record streak of consecutive PATs tonight. He has now connected on 81 straight.
CJ for TD
When cornerback C.J. Wilson ran an interception back for a 43-yard touchdown in the third quarter, it marked the first time that a Wolfpack played had scored on an interception return since linebacker Nate Irving returned a pick 33 yards for a score in a loss to Clemson on 9/13/08. It was Wilson's first career interception.
Pack on the Pick
NC State pulled down three interceptions on the night, with Earl Wolff, Audie Cole and C.J. Wilson all picking off a Knight pass. It was the first time the Wolfpack had three INTs in a game since the 2008 victory at UNC (11/22/08).
Pack takes it away
NC State forced five turnovers - three interceptions and two fumbles - for its most takeaways since forcing six at UNC in 2008 (11/22/08).
Huge night for Cole
Linebacker Audie Cole had a big defensive game for the Wolfpack, leading the team with 12 tackles, including three and a half for loss (19 yards), one sack (10 yards) and an interception.
On the road again
Tonight's win at UCF is the first road victory for the Wolfpack since a 41-10 decision in 2008 at North Carolina (11/22/08). It is also the Pack's first victory on the road outside the state of North Carolina since taking a 19-16 overtime affair at Miami in 2007 (11/3/07).
