Simpsonville (SC) Hillcrest outside linebacker Mike Rose attended a recent NC State home game and spoke with Pack Pride about how the trip went.
The 6-3, 215-pound Palmetto State native is a three-star prospect according to Scout.com and he holds scholarship offers from NC State, East Carolina, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Wake Forest and West Virginia, and while he hasn't taken any official visits yet he did recently take an unofficial trip to one of the schools he's interested in.
"I went to NC State a few weeks ago for their game against Boston College," Rose told Pack Pride. "I thought it was nice. I really enjoyed the game and I enjoyed the area. I basically just watched the game and came back home.
"I didn't get to talk to the coaches while I was there but I do have a good relationship with them. I talk to coach Bridge about once a week. The last time I talked to him was last week, I think."
Rose did not rule out the possibility of an official visit to NC State later this year or early next year but it doesn't appear to be at the top of his priority list at the moment.
"I've got an official visit to Louisville coming up on November 13," Rose explained. "That's the only one I've got set up so far. I don't know for sure but I'm probably gonna take an official visit to Wake Forest."
The senior linebacker said he does not have any favorites at this point nor does he have a timetable for when he would like to make his decision.
He said the schools he has been in the most contact with recent are NC State, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Louisville and Maryland.
