The last time Pack Pride caught up with three-star Florida linebacker Anthony Harrell he had taken one official visit.
The athletic linebacker prospect from the Sunshine State took an official visit to West Virginia at the beginning of October and said the Mountaineers had helped their cause by showing him a good time. Since that time he has stayed in contact with the coaches and is keeping an eye on the team's progress.
Recently he took an official visit to Vanderbilt and he shared his thoughts on the SEC school with Pack Pride.
"I was at Vanderbilt for an official visit two weekends ago I think," he said. "It went pretty good. Everything was nice. The scenery, the campus and everything else were good. The crowd and the atmosphere at the game were good."
West Virginia and Vanderbilt aren't exactly similar schools. One is a state school while one is a private school. One has had a lot of football success recently while the other is more known for being the Southeastern Conference's premier academic institution.
"West Virginia's not in the big city," Harrell noted. "Vanderbilt is, being in Nashville. That doesn't really matter to me either way. It's just whatever fits me best and I still have to determine where that is."
Harrell said he is still looking at "eight to ten schools", including NC State and the two schools mentioned above. He wants to set up some other official visits but has to give more thought to where he would like to go before he hits the road. Previously Harrell had told Pack Pride that he would love to take an official visit to Raleigh. While that's still a possibility he doesn't sound quite as convinced as before.
"I haven't talked to NC State in about a week," he said. "That means I need to give them a call this week. They're still up near the top. I'm still looking at them. I'm not sure where I'm gonna go (for his remaining official visits) yet. We're in the playoffs coming up this Friday so I'm thinking about that."
Tampa (FL) Freedom is undefeated in 2010 and is a No. 1 seed in the playoffs. Harrell will probably not be taking any official visits until their playoff run is over.
