Locker Room Report: Wolfpack Players

CHAPEL HILL, NC -- Several NC State players met with the media following the Pack's 29-25 win over North Carolina on Saturday afternoon.

Russell Wilson

"It definitely means a lot for our team, but we can't get too high at the same time. Its definitely a good moment. A good moment for us winning that game. Winning an ACC game and beating Carolina obviously.

"But at the same time more than anything we have to step up this week and be prepared. Maryland is a great team and they have been playing great all season."

"Well he did a great job since he got hurt with his rehab. His extra, extra rehab. He ran 3 or 4 times a day. He got better and he was ready to go. He was killing it all week.

"We'll have to see. We play a great team in Maryland next week and see after that and go from there."

Nate Irving

"Yes it is. Like coach says, We just continue to grind and fly around and play hard nosed football and good things will happen."

"It felt like a boost for us. I think it took some of the air out of the guys over there. Then we had the punt return for a touchdown and our team was able to capitalize."

"As a defense I think you can sense it. You blitz and hit them a couple of times and you can hear them moan and groan and get up slow and his feet start to get quick and jittery. And I think as a defense you notice that and you have to capitalize on it."

Owen Spencer

"We called the play and I knew it was going to be kind of tough with the athletes they have on defense but I mean when he threw up something crazy's gonna happen."

"I think it was Deunta Williams. Deunta Williams ended up tipping it to me. That was probably the greatest catch I've ever made."

TJ Graham

"You can kind of feel the momentum, the crowd isn't heckling behind you as much."

"I just heard wind in my ears. I really don't remember half of it. I just remember running and hitting the hole, glimpses of it. I was so excited, I still have jitters."

"I've been a State fan since Carter-Finley had the grass side, and I use to slide down the pizza boxes. I've been around for a while. I know this is a big game and in big games you step up and produce."

JR Sweezy

"It's a big deal. It's a huge rivalry. They are a great team and it was good game."

"It was super important. You let [Yates] sit back there he's going to make some plays. We knew we had to do that to win the game."

"I think we hurt him right before halftime and we were kind of excited to get back out there and get after him again."

Josh Czajkowski

"Rough, at least mentally rough. You're trying to get back and you are unhealthy and you're watching practice and it's just rough. That eats at you the whole time."

"I think I look more fluid than I normally do because I'm not trying to over-kick the ball. That was the main thing since I got hurt."
