RALEIGH, NC -- Sidney Lowe spoke with reporters following the Pack's win over Youngstown State on Thursday night at the RBC Center.

"That was a tough ball game. Obviously we didn't play to well for the first half but I thought our guys did a great job of coming out in the second half and setting the tone defensively, which we talked about."

"I thought C.J. had an unbelievable game. He had great energy in that second half and had second and third opportunities. Our defense was just great in the second half and held them to 22 percent shooting and 16 points."

"They did a great job early. They were trying to take Scott Wood out and we didn't take advantage of opportunities where our bigs were open on the slip and in the second half we just changed what we were doing. I thought our point guards did a great job getting in the lane and creating opportunities."

"In a perfect world, absolutely. But that's where you have to have players. Having players that can create opportunities."

"Well, you know, I was still fairly calm. But I'm thinking 'when are we going to come out of this thing'. What we were doing was some of our own fault. We took some quick shots early and we just started talking about getting back to our game."

"Our defense picked us up and we've been talking about that for a while now. About letting our defense ignite our offense and in the second half we did that."

"At this point, I don't know. [Tracy Smith] tried two days ago and it didn't work. It was sore. It's kind of up in the air with me right now, I don't know when he's going to be ready."

"I told the guys yesterday, i thought we had a bad practice. That is the first time we've had a practice like that in a while. It was actually the first time in a while we practiced [at the RBC Center] and for some reason when we practice here the focus is something different. We didn't have a good practice and I told the guys. We didn't have a good practice yesterday and that concerned me because coming into a ball game at home, you've got to be focused and have a good practice the day before the game."

"They were talking about it in the locker room. It's a good lesson for the young guys because it's their first experience with it."

"It's another opportunity for us to see the continued growth that we've been seeing. Tonight was another indication of growth. We're down in a ball game against a very solid ball club and we found a way to win."

"Maybe on Saturday [Tracy] can do something and see how he feels, he might be ready. It's tough to tell. The thing is, there is going to be some discomfort. How much, I don't know. It's structurally fine, so it's not something where there will be another injury there but it's got to get to a point where he's comfortable with it and got confidence in it. He's got to less us know when he feels he's ready to go."
