Flowers Commits!

With three wide receivers leaving due to graduation, NC State needed to land a wideout with the potential to contribute as a true freshman and they may have landed that guy tonight when Greenville (SC) Wade Hampton standout Hakeem Flowers committed to the Wolfpack.

With three wide receivers leaving due to graduation, NC State needed to land a wideout with the potential to contribute as a true freshman and they may have landed that guy tonight when Greenville (SC) Wade Hampton standout Hakeem Flowers committed to the Wolfpack.

Flowers selected NC State over multiple offers and had narrowed his list to NC State, Michigan, Oregon, and LSU. He made his commitment public this evening at a press conference at his high school.

Flowers is rated a three-star prospect by Scout.com. The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder has been timed at 4.54 in the 40-yard dash with a 38-inch vertical. As a senior he totaled 50 catches for 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns.

"Flowers does a lot of the little things well at wide receiver," says Scout.com Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons. "He catches the ball well, he uses his length to his advantage, he runs good routes, and he is very consistent. He needs to improve his down field speed, his quickness off the ball, and getting better separation. He is a possession type of receiver, but a good one."

Pack Pride will have more from Flowers in the near future so stay tuned!
