Early NC Top 10: No. 6 ATH Germone Hopper

Pack Pride breaks down ten players that could challenge as one of the state's best for the class of 2012.

The official rankings for the North Carolina class of 2012 won't be released for a couple of months but it's never too early to take a look at some of the best players in the state. Over the next two weeks, Pack Pride will break down 10 players that will challenge for a spot among the state's top players. Today we profile WR Germone Hopper

WR Germone Hopper....6-0, 170 pounds...Phillip O Berry Academy, Charlotte, NC

The Skinny....Hopper is one of the faster prospects in the state for the class of 2012. While not the biggest player around, he does bring some versatility to the table and has the skills to play either wide receiver or cornerback on the next level.

As a junior Hopper rushed 162 times for 1,395 yards and 18 touchdowns, caught 29 passes for 496 yards and three touchdowns and had three scores on special teams- one on a punt return and two kickoff returns.

We really liked Hopper's film and while some have him pegged for defense in college, we think he could really excel as a slot receiver. He has good hands and the ability to run away from defenders.
