Spring Game: Locker Room Report

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Audie Cole and J.R. Sweezy met with the media following the Kay Yow Spring Game.

J.R. Sweezy

"We're working on everything, if I had to pick one thing it would be our pass rushing. We've really buckled down on that because we're pretty good with our run defense. We've been working on our pass rushing and getting pressure on the quarterback."

"McKay [Frandsen] is picking things up fast. He's a good guy, love him to death."

"We're really close, maybe as close as we've ever been. We're learning how we all play, to work the stunts right and it's all coming together. I can pretty much tell you what [Marcus Kuhn] is going to do, and he can pretty much tell you what I'm going to do on every play so it's a big advantage."

"It's a good feeling to go out there and go as hard as you can for four or five plays and you know you have somebody just as good as you to come in and do the job. There is no holding back. We go out there and do what we can but if we get tired, nobody is afraid to have someone else come in."

"We're the hardest working defensive line that I've been around since I've been here. Every day we come to work and get it done."

"I was impressed by everybody. We thought we were going to get rained out, but we've practice in the rain, so we didn't really care. We were just out here and had fun."

Audie Cole

"I thought [D.J. Green] did well today. The hard thing with D.J. is that he's going through a position change but also it's his second year, so he's still learning everything and he's learning a new position. Terrell [Manning] and I have been here, we know what we have to do. It's not as difficult."

"The defense performed real well today. We're going to have a good defense this year, we just have to correct some things. We're going to be just fine when the fall comes."

"We've been trying to, we haven't been getting our hands on many balls until today. Mike [Glennon] is pretty good and he usually keeps it out of our hands but we got some lucky breaks today. The defensive line got their hands up and D.J. got his hands on one. It's part luck, but you have to get your hands up."

"I don't know. I'd say it was the defensive line playing great and getting their hands up at the right time. Mike is good, him getting the ball knocked down had nothing to do with Mike. That can happen to anybody, I don't care if he's 7-feet tall."
