Coach O'Brien Thanks Wolfpack Nation

RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State head coach Tom O'Brien posted a letter to Wolfpack fans on the school's official site,

On behalf of the entire North Carolina State Football Family, I want to thank everyone who turned out for the annual Kay Yow Spring Game this Saturday! Despite the severe weather moving through our area, our official recorded attendance of 13,439 is a testament to the level of commitment and support of Wolfpack Nation and further cements your status as the greatest football fans in the state of North Carolina.

The fundraising efforts resulted in over $15,000 in donations for the Kay Yow WBCA Cancer Fund and Kay Yow Endowment (with more still coming in!), and we thank each and every one of your who donated so generously to this cause. It is truly a special relationship between the Wolfpack community and Kay Yow, and we thank everyone for supporting her legacy both here at NC State and beyond.

The spring season has concluded, but the hard work has just begun. We commit ourselves to being better each and every day and will continue our dedication to working hard in the classroom, community, and football field in order to be the best we can be in 2011. The standards we set for ourselves are incredibly high, and it will take everyone pulling together to achieve the goals and expectations we have for this football team. We are confident and excited to know that we will do so with the full support of the great fans of North Carolina State University behind us every step of the way.

All the best, and as always...GO PACK!
