One teammate returning is recent N.C. State verbal Lemarte McGhee. The 6-foot-5 270 pound Lawrence spoke highly of McGhee.
"He's a great player and teammate," Dan told us. "He hasn't played football long, but he's big, strong, and is real quick for his size. I think he's going to be a very good player in college."
Lawrence is a terrific prospect as well, and several colleges around the region have kept in touch with the All Pac-6 Conference selection.
"Schools like NC State, Virginia, Carolina, Duke, and Wake Forest have been recruiting me," he said. "None have officially offered yet, but I think Virginia's close to doing it."
Though most of the regional schools are keeping in touch, it's obvious that Lawrence has his eyes on two particular programs.
"I like NC State and Virginia the most right now and they both are recruiting me the hardest," he stated. "I want to major in Engineering and both of those schools offer it. I like State the best right now, and if they laid an offer on the table I think I would take it."
Dan projects as an Offensive Center on the next level, and feels that his versatility could be a valuable asset for any program.
"I can pretty much do it all from the center position," he said. "I can handle regular snaps, work out of the shotgun, and even do some long-snapping in college."
This summer Lawrence hopes to get as much exposure as possible, and feels that by attending camps he can do so.
"I'm going to State's individual camp, and the Duke, Carolina, and Virginia camps. I may try and make the NIKE Camp too. I just think going to camps and letting the coaches see me in person can only help."
