Fromang Talks NC State

Orlando (FL) Lake Highland Prep rising senior Blake Fromang is one of the top linemen in the state of Florida, and he already holds an offer from NC State.

Orlando (FL) Lake Highland Prep rising senior Blake Fromang is one of the top uncommitted linemen in the state of Florida.

As you might imagine, Fromang has been receiving quite a bit of attention this summer.

With offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss, NC State, South Florida, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and a host of others, Fromang could end up playing in just about any part of the country he chooses. The 6-8, 280-pound lineman is coveted for a frame that is nowhere near entirely filled out and a high level of athleticism for a prospect of his size. In other words, coaches believe the sky is the limit, and you can't say that about many prospects.

NC State has made Fromang a high priority, as have many of the other schools on his list.

"I called the NC State coach the other day and we had a good conversation," Fromang explained to Pack Pride recently. "I like the program and I like the campus so they're a school I'll be looking at.

"I was up there probably two or three weeks ago. From what I understand it's a pretty new (coaching) staff At least they're relatively new. They seem like they have a game plan figured out. I like the (offensive) line coach a lot. He's really cool and good to talk to. It sounds like they've got things figured out."

Fromang's last trip was to Virginia a couple of weeks back.

"I'm pretty much done for the summer," he noted. "I'm planning on taking some officials but I'm not sure how many. Right now I don't have a list (of favorites) yet. I just got done with our football camp so I've been focusing on that."

Fromang is Scout.com's No. 79 offensive tackle nationally.
