Pack Offers 2013 DT

NC State recently extended an offer to Hope Mills (NC) South View DT Greg Gilmore. Pack Pride has the latest on his recruitment.

Over the weekend NC State became the fourth school to offer an in-state defensive tackle from the Class of 2013.

Greg Gilmore is one of the state's best-looking junior defensive linemen and NC State is now officially in the mix. A little over a week ago the Pack verbally offered Gilmore, a 6-4, 285-pound defensive tackle from Hope Mills (NC) South View, joining Clemson, South Carolina and East Carolina, the other schools that had already done so.

Gilmore was in Raleigh recently to check out the Pack's scrimmage and see what the school has to offer.

"It was really nice up there," Gilmore told Pack Pride. "I saw some stuff I didn't see at East Carolina, but I saw some stuff at East Carolina that I didn't see there. They're just different colleges."

NC State and ECU are the two schools that Gilmore has visited so far. This fall he hopes to attend games at Clemson and South Carolina.

While the offer from NC State over the weekend still has him excited, it didn't come as a surprise.

"They've  come to the school a lot and I've been talking to them some. I call Coach Bridge every once in a while so I pretty much knew they were going to offer me," Gilmore said. "I just needed to go see them face-to-face.

"I like them a lot. They show a lot of hospitality. They had people assigned to each person to show us around. They had some really nice facilities. I thought they were really nice. I watched the scrimmage and they're looking good."

Gilmore is also hearing from Duke and a good number of other schools from the region.

Academics will be a big factor in his decision and he said he wants to major in biochemistry or something similar.
