How are you feeling?
I'm out here, I'm feeling good. No green jersey, it's white, so I'm ready to go.
Did your rehab go quicker than you expected?
I was actually surprised at how long Coach O'Brien said I was going to be out. I guess that was just a challenge for me. From four weeks to being able to cut that time down as much as possible.
I went about a week and two days with no football activity.
What was the most important part of that rehab process? Were there specific things you had to focus on with the knee?
Wanting to get back got me back as quick as I did. Rehabbing every morning, every afternoon. Coach Bridge wouldn't let me not be in rehab. I actually missed a couple of meetings going to rehab. I guess it all worked out.
It's a little embarrassing, but it does become a job. First and foremost, you have to get yourself healthy.
Coach O'Brien had talked about the chemistry of the offensive line early in fall cam. Have you guys been able to get that chemistry back heading into Saturday?
We were together so long during the spring and everything and I was only out like a week so it didn't impact us that much. You have guys like Zach Allen pushing you and you can't be messing up. We'll be just fine Saturday.
You mentioned Zach. Besides him, who has taken a leadership role with the offensive line?
R.J. and Zach. When Zach decided he wants to go hard and kill the scout team, everybody kind of pays attention and takes his lead. When we start slacking he gets after the whole group.
What have you seen on film from this Liberty defense? What do you guys expect to see this weekend?
It's 3-4 is basically what we've been looking at. Sometimes they go to the base front. We were looking forward to going against the big 380 pound dude but I guess that might not happen.
It becomes a strength contest. And we've got some big guys on the scout team too, so it's nothing we haven't seen. It would have been a challenge but we would have handled it.
Are you hoping to get to run the ball a little more and try to establish the line of scrimmage?
We want to do whatever Coach Bible calls. If he wants to pass the ball we'll protect the quarterback. If he wants to run the ball we will establish the line of scrimmage. Whatever they say we'll do. All the offensive linemen are robots.
You talked about Coach Bridge being someone who pushed you during your rehab. Talk about the differences between him and Coach Horton.
There is a big difference between Coach Bridge and Coach Horton. When you come in the gate the first coach you hear is Coach Bridge. He gets after you and he's so vocal that you have to get it done.
You have to get used to it but it's good now because he fuels us. It helps when we're struggling.
What have you seen from Mike Glennon in fall camp?
Mike is Mike, he's been a leader. He's been everything we expected, a leader, he's got a cannon for an arm. He's been good.
Last question, any personal goals for the 2011 season?
First and foremost I want to stay healthy and play as much as I can. No missed assignments. If I do that everything else will fall into place.
