RALEIGH, N.C. -- NC State head coach Tom O'Brien met with the media following the Wolfpack's win over Liberty.

"Well give credit to Liberty. We knew coming in they would have a good game plan. They did. Certainly the executed well and they are a good football team. We were a little sluggish on offense, certainly in the first half. We came out in the second half and said we were going to run the football. We accomplished that."

"Don't like the fact that we put the ball on the ground when you have a chance to get the game over with down there. Seven turnovers on defense is something we preached on and I'm happy our guys got it done."

"That's a good way to play football, be good in special teams and play solid defense. Hopefully we can get better at both things. T.J. has one a year, so now he's going to have to bring two back a year or more. He hasn't hit his limit."

"Well we didn't throw the ball in the second half a lot. Maybe put too much on [Mike Glennon] early. We wanted to settle him down. He will improve as it goes on. Twice he throws ball that the guys aren't ready to catch the ball. We have to get some things going but certainly we have to protect him better."

"Well Slay is not young, he's played for two years. He's into his third year playing. Norman this is his first time to play and certainly he'll get better each and every week. We finally get him in there to play. [A.J.] Ferguson saw extensive action in his first time too."

"We changed the coverage a little bit [on defense[. That was a product of them trying to make sure they could throw the ball and get it out quick. We had to go to a couple of different coverages to help us out. We weren't able to get to him with three-step drops anyway."

"Nobody is where we want them to be. We want to keep getting better each and every week and we're going to strive to do that."

"We have to get better if we're going to continue to move and attain the goals we want to attain."

"We threw the ball around, in my opinion, probably too much in the first half. We just can't do that. I don't care how good you think your quarterback is and everything else. We have to be able to run the ball, we have to be able to run it better."
