"I had a great time," said Warren. "I wanted to get over and see a football game at State and meet up with the coaches again before I headed up to Brewster.
"I talk to the coaches almost everyday, but it was good seeing them on campus and getting a feel for the fans. I really enjoyed myself. I've been to a bunch of games before but this was the first time going to a game at State with the new staff."
What did Warren discuss with NC State's coaching staff?
"We were talking about the future," he said. "We talked about how I fit in their style of play, things like that."
Joining Warren at NC State was Raleigh (NC) Upper Room combo guard Rodney Purvis and Cordova (SC) Edisto power forward Brice Johnson, who was on an official visit. According to Warren, the trio had a great time and talked about potentially playing together on the next level.
"That was cool, hanging out with those guys," said Warren. "Everybody at State was showing us love. It was good going being on an unofficial visit with them.
"I think State has a real good shot at landing them. We talked about it and everything... we're going to see what happens in the future."
Warren, who is rated the No. 22 prospect in the 2012 class, is transferring to Brewster Academy (NH) after attending Raleigh (NC) Word of God this past season. He leaves for Brewster on Friday and added that once he knows his schedule he will begin to set up his official visits.
He confirmed that he has narrowed his list down to five schools.
"I'm down to Kentucky, Florida, Georgetown, UNC and NC State," he stated. "I'm going to take official visits to all five of those schools. That's my final five. I really thought about it and those are the schools I'm looking at now.
So far I've set a visit for Midnight Madness at Kentucky, but I haven't set the others yet. I plan to do that after getting to Brewster and looking at my schedule."
When factors are going to play a role in Warren's final decision?
"I'm going to look at location and the coaching staff," he said. "I want to see where I fit and can be myself... play my game. I don't want to have to worry about making mistakes and coming out of the game. I want to be able to go in and play my game and overall just feel comfortable.
"I will take all five visits before doing anything. I'm going to go on my visits and see what happens."
