Logan Planning Visit to NC State

Brookline (MA) Dexter School RB/LB Abner Logan is planning to visit to NC State. Pack Pride has the latest on his recruitment.

One of the top linebackers from the Northeast will be heading south for an official visit to NC State this fall.

Abner Logan, a 6-1, 220-pound prospect from Brookline (MA) Dexter School, is just a two-star prospect but has offers from Maryland, Syracuse, UConn, Boston College and Northwestern.

NC State has not yet offered Logan, but he's not holding that against the Pack.

"I'll be taking an official visit to NC State," Logan told Pack Pride in a recent interview. "I haven't been to NC State so I kind of just want to see it for myself. I've seen Northwestern and Maryland but those are two other schools I want to take officials to."

Logan told Pack Pride he will probably take all five visits. He's just not sure where those last two trips will be to just yet.

Though Logan plans on visiting NC State, he doesn't seem to know much about the school.

"I'd have to see the place," he said. "I need to see it to know if I want to be there for the next four or five years. They've shown a real interest in me even though they haven't offered yet. I wasn't able to get down to camp and that's why they weren't able to offer me. That's what they told me.

"The coaches have seen my film. Location does play a little bit of a role because I want my family to be able to come see me. It's just a place I want to see because they've been recruiting me."

Actually, NC State isn't recruiting Abner as a linebacker. Like Boston College, the Pack likes Logan as a running back. UConn, Northwestern and Maryland are recruiting him as a linebacker. That won't be a big factor in his decision.

"Last year was my first year playing running back so I'm more familiar with linebacker but either way, I just want to play," he said.

Logan said he has beefed up in the offseason, gaining about ten pounds of muscle while maintaining his speed.
