Pack Evaluating SC Lineman

Mt Pleasant (SC) Wando offensive lineman Tyler Stasky has the Pack in his top two after a recent visit to Raleigh. Pack Pride has the latest on his recruitment.

You don't find too many football players that stand 6-8. That would seem more appropriate for the hardwood.

Tyler Stasky checks in at 6-8 and 301 pounds. He's a name you might not be too familiar with, because for whatever reason he has flown in under the radar. There's probably a good reason for that.

Stasky put on a solid thirty pounds over the past year and his frame is continuing to fill out. Schools are impressed with his development and his stock has risen to the point where he may be a viable offer candidate for some schools.

The Mount Pleasant (SC) Wando star told Pack Pride this week that Clemson, NC State and South Carolina are the main schools recruiting him right now.

"They were really just waiting on my film from the first couple of games. They wanted to see my foot speed since I had put on so much weight over the summer. They were waiting to see how that translates," he said.

We should find out soon whether Stasky's film was impressive enough to earn him some offers.

Stasky has a 7-2 wingspan and that's something that helps in pass protection. His height can make it difficult for him to stay lower, however.

"I've been to Clemson, NC State, South Carolina, North Carolina, Duke and Wake," he said. "I've pretty much done the Southeast tour."

What did he think of NC State?

"I loved it," he responded. "I've been going there for the past two years for camps and games. I love the atmosphere there. The coaches are great and I love the feeling you get when you're there. It would be a great place to be."

In fact, Stasky goes so far as to put NC State in his top two, along with South Carolina.

Wando has played two games so far and the school has a 1-1 record.

He told Pack Pride that coach Keith Willis from NC State has his film and should be contacting him soon to let him know whether the Pack plans on offering.
