Locker Room Report: Wolfpack Players

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Several NC State players met with the media following the Pack's win over South Alabama on Saturday night at Carter-Finley Stadium.

Mike Glennon

"That was all TJ. From my eye it looked like the guy fell – TJ obviously ran a great route to make the guy fall down. His speed just made the rest happen."

"Taylor is a big bruising type of guy and I know once I give the ball to him on the 3-yard line he's gonna get in there. He's got great hands for the fullback, former receiver and a great blocker, and I know when I get him the ball he's going to do everything he can to get that extra yard."

"We just kind of took what the defense gave us and a lot of times the running back was the only receiver that we had. Curtis and James both did a great job – I think there was a 3rd and 15 situation and James ended up getting the first down."

"We were really just throwing a bunch of short routes and taking what the defense gave us. Every week its going to be something different."

Curtis Underwood

"We challenged ourselves that coming out we were going to start fast and get the ball in the endzone and finish drives. Each play we tried to finish."

"When you score on the defense right away its kind of a step back for them. Now they haven't to respond to us."

"I told [Tobias] 'heck of a block' and then he went down there and made a heck of a play on special teams right after. That's great when you can not be selfish and put it out there for your teammates – it was a walk-in and I appreciate it that."

"Hopefully sometimes when we catch them creeping up we can go over the top because we have a lot of skill guys on the flank. To establish the run early is great."

Audie Cole

"The whole defense – we are still making too many mistakes. I know I missed three tackles today which is unacceptable, you can't have missed tackles."

"It was a defensive effort and it wasn't a great one. I think we need to get a lot better in a short time."

"I guess I would say its our best performance [of the year] but you aren't talking about much."

"The defense really has to step it up. Coming into the year I really thought we were going to control things."

"It feels good to keep them under 250. Hearing anything near 400 doesn't feel too well."

"They may not be the greatest team but they are always strong, physical hustle players and that's what they were."

"We need to practice the way we have been and then on Thursday we have to play the way we've been practicing instead of doing our own thing."

Dwayne Maddox

"Anytime I'm called to go in there and do it, I just do what I have to do."

"It feels like I was just a freshman and now I'm a senior. It flew by. It's just crazy how fast college goes by."

"It's just being mentally ready for [the Thursday night game]. We are going to start practice early on Monday instead of Tuesday so its just coming out there with the same intensity and a little more focus."
