Cedric Simmons Shot Charts

At last weekend's Southern Invitational, we were able to catch up with a few kids like Cedric Simmons and Adam Williams whom we had previously not seen before. Here's a look at their games using our exclusive shot chart feature.

North Carolina State wasted little time in locking up center Cedric Simmons last year. Herb Sendek's crew moved swiftly following a performance at a workout in North Carolina last July. Turns out they moved quickly for good reason.

Simmons is going to be a player.

At 6-10 he's extremely long. The guy is athletic and talented. Clearly, he's adjusting to the talent level around him as this is the highest level he's played at, understanding he comes from a small high school program.

Right now, the big fella needs some work with his footwork but that will come. He takes it strong to the hoop when he can and will finish with a dunk.

Tubby Smith and the Kentucky Wildcats also moved quickly on a prospect last season following a great effort at their team camp. Small forward Adam Williams played last weekend with Buck Hoffmaster's West Virginia Select team.

Williams, a 6-4 athlete, scored 11 points in the game we watched.

He gets around the court well using his athleticism.

What he'll have to work on once he gets to Kentucky is improving his perimeter game and concentrating on finishing plays. In the game we watched, he came off the bench for his team and left a number of balls on the rim. He'll also have to tighten up his handle if he wants to be more than a role player in Lexington.
