Pankey Focused on Four

Hamilton (OH) offensive lineman Adam Pankey will make his official visit to NC State this weekend. Pack Pride caught up with him prior to his visit.

The last time Pack Pride caught up with Ohio offensive lineman Adam Pankey he was clear in expressing his interest in NC State.

Now Pankey is about to become very familiar with the Wolfpack. Pankey has already taken an unofficial visit to NC State. His official visit is this weekend.

"I've got that coming up for their game against Georgia Tech," Pankey confirmed. "This is going to be my first official visit so I'm excited. It's my first time doing this.

"I was at their game against Wake Forest last year on an unofficial so I've seen a game there but I haven't really got to hang out and see the campus and everything."

NC State assistant coach Don Horton stopped by Hamilton High School late this past week and he has been keeping in contact with the 6-5, 300-pound lineman.

"We've got a really good relationship," Pankey explained. "He's the one that's been recruiting me and I like him a lot."

The Pack is recruiting Pankey as a tackle, as are the other schools on his list. In his last game Pankey also played on the defensive line but it's unlikely that will be an option in college.

Does Pankey have any favorite schools?

"I don't have a number one right now but I also want to set up officials to Illinois and Pittsburgh," he said. "I really like West Virginia too. I guess those and NC State would be my top four. You could say that."

Those schools aren't in any order and Pankey said they probably won't be until after he takes his official visits.

Pankey, a three-star prospect, is ranked the No. 80 offensive guard nationally by Scout.
