NC State head coach Mark Gottfried landed a huge commitment today when combo guard Rodney Purvis committed to the Wolfpack during a press conference at Upper Room Christian Academy.

"There's no place like home," Purvis said.

A 6-foot-4 combo guard, Purvis considered scholarship offers from NC State, UCONN, Memphis, Ohio State, Louisville, VCU, and NC Central among others before selecting the Wolfpack.

A five-star prospect, Purvis is rated the No. 5 shooting guard in the 2012 class by Scout.com. He is considered the No. 15 player overall in his class.

NC State made Purvis a priority since Mark Gottfried and his staff arrived in Raleigh. They've had him on campus for several unofficial visits and Gottfried and assistant Orlando Early followed him closely all summer on the AAU circuit.

Pack Pride will have more from the Purvis press conference shortly so stay tuned!
