How do you feel your transition has gone to playing linebacker?
I can't gas myself up or anything like that because I'm still young. I have a long way to go. All I look for is production and my coaches and my fellow linebackers have helped me out with that. I just want to keep getting better.
You talked about Audie Cole. How much of a help has he been? Has Terrell helped as well?
Those guys know, they are veterans. They've been through what I'm going through now so it's just like your dad telling one of the things that can happen in life. It's kind of like they are doing the same thing but it's happening on the football field.
Rate yourself so far this season. How much have you improved this season.
From the beginning until now is really two different levels. In the beginning of course I had to learn it but now I'm getting more comfortable so I'm starting to play faster as Coach Tenuta would say.
What are the points of interest heading into the Central Michigan game?
Stop the run, stop the run.
How is that different from stopping the run against Georgia Tech?
Last game you had to read your keys. You still have to read your keys this game also but it's more downhill instead of trickery.
Have you made any plays in the last couple of weeks that you couldn't have made earlier in the year?
I like making plays, that's why I'm out there. Like I said, I keep getting better and better. Learning to play with my hands more and stop beating up my shoulders and just do what they say. It's catching up with me.
It's tough to do during the season, but are you still trying to gain some weight?
It's tough right now, the scale goes up and down up and down. I do a lot of running so I'm tired, I don't feel like eating all the time. It's hard but your heart is bigger than anything. I feel like I have a little heart so it doesn't matter about my weight.
In high school you were a pretty big safety. Were there any teams that wondered why you weren't playing another position?
Everybody used to think I played defensive end in high school. Up here, it's different. I'm undersized at linebacker but over-sized as a safety. I had a lot of confidence in high school and I still have confidence now, it's just two different positions.
