Princeton represents the third consecutive NCAA Tournament team that NC State has faced to open the year. The Tigers opened the 2011-12 season with a 73-57 home loss to Wagner.
Junior Ian Hummer, scored a game-high 19 points and nine points against Wagner. Last season, Hummer averaged 13.8 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game.
GOTTFRIED AGAINST PRINCETON
This is the first time that NC State's Mark Gottfried has face a Princeton team in his time as a head coach.

NC State is 15-5 all-time against Ivy League teams.
The Pack has faced six Ivy League teams including Princeton.
STATE MAKES IT TWO IN ROW WITH 91-61 VICTORY OVER MOREHEAD STATE
The Pack followed its win over UNC Asheville with a strong performance against Morehead State in its opening game of the TicketCity Legends Classic on Sunday, led by junior Richard Howell.
Howell had a career-high 25 points on 11-of-13 shooting from the floor and going 3-of-5 from the line. Both the 11 converted field goals and 13 attempts were career bests.
Fellow junior DeShawn Painter followed his opening night performance with 19 points and five rebounds. He was perfect from both the field and at the line, hitting all six of his shots and nailing seven free throws.
Junior Scott Wood had 18 points on 5-of-8 from three-point range and going 3-for-3 from the line.
SERVING IT UP It's only two games into Lorenzo Brown's transition to the point guard spot and he is averaging 7.5 assists per outing. Against UNC Asheville, Brown recorded a career-best nine assists.
A TRIMMER HOWELL, IS A BETTER HOWELL
It didn't take long for NC State coach Mark Gottfried and Wolfpack fans to see the results of a slimmed down Richard Howell. Howell dropped 11 pounds from his frame going down from 261 a year ago to 250 to start the season and effects were all positive.
He backed is season-opening double-double of 15 points, 14 rebounds with a career-high 25 points against Morehead State.
SCOTT WOOD IN THE RECORD BOOKS
Junior Scott Wood has tied with Julius Hodge (2002-04) for 10th all-time for consecutive starts at NCSU with 69.
Wood is now 13th on the career three-point field goals made with 142. He moves past Brandon Costner following his 5-of-8 showing from long range against Morehead State.
PICKING UP THE PRODUCTION
It may only be two games into the regular season, but compared to the first two games from last year, the numbers have definitely picked for Richard Howell and DeShawn Painter.
HOW THE PACK PERFORMS ON THE U
NC State will be making its 23rd appearance on ESPNU on Wednesday.
The Pack owns a 12-10 mark overall when playing on the outlet and it is 8-5 when playing those games at home.
HEAD COACH TIMES THREE
Mark Gottfried may have given his first team an distinct advantage with inclusion of assistants Orlando Early and Bobby Lutz on his staff.
Both aides have served as head coaches with Early spending five years at the helm of Lousiana Monroe and Lutz spending 12 years as the head man at Charlotte.
In Early's second year (2006-07) at ULM, he guided his squad to a 18-14 mark, its first winning mark since 2001-02, and a share of the Sun Belt Western Division crown. His effort garnered him league coach of the year honors.
Lutz owns the distinction of being the winningest coach in 49er history with a 218-158 mark. He guided Charlotte to a school-record five 20-win seasons. Lutz also led the 49ers to a eight postseason appearances (five NCAA, three NIT).
REMEMBERING LORENZO CHARLES
This season, the Wolfpack player uniforms have a black patch with the white letters LC on them in memory of NC State legend Lorenzo Charles.
Charles died this past June in a bus accident in the Raleigh area.
Charles' dunk of Dereck Whittenburg's missed jumper as time expired sealed 1983 national championship for NC State and completed one of the most amazing runs in NCAA Tournament history.
NO REST FOR THE WEARY
In addition to NC State's tough slate of competition to start the season, the Wolfpack's schedule features a combined 14 games in the months of November and December. The 14 games are the most played since the Pack played 13 contests in the 2009-10 and 2001-02 campaigns.
