Mark Glowinski is a name that's just starting to float around in recruiting circles and it's a name that could become especially important to NC State over the coming months.
At 6-5 and 290-pounds, Glowinski could play tackle or guard at the next level. In fact, UConn has already told him that if he signs with the Huskies in February he would be plugged in right away protecting the quarterback's blind side.
Glowinski already has offers from UConn and West Virginia, plus a couple of smaller schools. NC State is one of many schools taking a long, hard look at the Lackawanna College (Pa.) standout.
"I actually had a game down there at NC State," Glowinski told Pack Pride recently. "We were playing Georgia Military and since they had been talking to me for a while I walked around and checked everything out."
It was his first time getting an up close look at what the Pack has to offer and Glowinski said he came away impressed.
"They said they were going to check my transcripts out and if my classes can transfer then they'll most likely offer me a scholarship.
"I really like the school and the facilities and all that. I didn't get to check out the whole campus or anything like that but I did like everything that I saw in general. I got to talk to the coaches real quick before I went back to PA."
Glowinski will have two years of eligibility plus a redshirt year once he transfers to a four-year university.
While he doesn't have any favorites he does admit that he wouldn't mind playing in one particular area of the country.
"I would like to go to a school in Florida if I have the chance to," he said. "But it wouldn't really matter too much. I'm not going to make any decisions until later on. I've got plenty of time."
The primary Florida school recruiting Glowinski right now is USF. They're in talks with him and while they haven't offered they have made it clear they're very interested.
Glowinski is not a native of Florida, however. He's a Pennsylvania native that likes the idea of playing down south.
He told Pack Pride that he will probably take a few official visits but he hasn't set any up yet.
