NC State overcame a 41-14 deficit to down Maryland, 56-41 today. The Pack's comeback from 27 points down ranks as the greatest comeback in school history. The previous mark was when NC State came from 24 down to defeat Minnesota in the 2000 Micronpc.com Bowl.
Great ACC Comeback
The comeback also ranks as the second-highest in an ACC conference game. Clemson came back from 28-0 against Virginia to win 29-28 in 1992.
Glennon Ties School Marks
Quarterback Mike Glennon had a career day, as he tied two NC State school records.
• Glennon tied the school record for touchdown responsibility as he threw for 5 TDs and ran for another to finish with 6. Philip Rivers in 2002 against Navy is the only other Pack player to total 6 Touchdowns in a game.
• Glennon tied the school record with 5 touchdown passes on the day. Glennon is the 5th NC State player to throw 5 in a game, the last was Russell Wilson against Florida State in 2009.
Glennon Posts Highs in Completions, Attempts
Mike Glennon's 55 attempts and 36 completions today were both career highs and both rank on the Wolfpack single game lists. His attempts totals ranks sixth and his completions were the fifth-highest mark ever for a Wolfpack player.
Bryan Moves Into Top 10
With eight receptions in today's game, senior tight end George Bryan now ranks ninth in Wolfpack history in receptions. Bryan has 123 for his career and passed Mike Quick for 10th place and Tramain Hall for 9th.
Pack Turns It Over
Heading into today's game, the Wolfpack had turned the ball over just two times in the past three games combined. Today, State turned the ball over four times ... all in the first half. The highest turnover tally for the Pack this season prior to today's game was three in three different games. Today's total was the highest since the loss at East Carolina on Oct. 16, 2010.
Glennon Climbs Touchdown List
With five touchdown throws today, junior quarterback Mike Glennon now has 28 for the season, moving him into a tie for third place on the NC State single-season list in that category. Only Philip Rivers (34 TDs in 2003) and Russell Wilson (31 TDs in 2009) have ever thrown for more in a single season than Glennon has in 2011.
NC State allowed 41 points today, but cameback for the 56-41 win. The last time an opponent posted that many points in a loss was Texas Tech in 2002 (51-48).
