"You have to give North Carolina Central a lot of credit. I thought they came in, they were loose and played that way. They made a lot of tough shots and I thought we got cautious. We became real tentative late in the game and I don't think you can play that way."
"At the end of the day, we did some things well at the end of the game. Got the ball in the right guys hands for fouls shots, made a couple of big shots ourselves so we'll build on the fact that we did win the game but we also realize we can get a lot better than we were today."
"[C.J. Williams] was good, I'm a little more critical than everybody because I think he's good but can be better. He played really well but late he was cautious too, he turned down a couple of shots that I want him to take. He did play well, made some big shots."
"As a whole, we all understand we can play better. I don't want to take anything away from those guys though, they did a nice job. They got the game slowed down. We were facing an extended zone defense most of the time. We did not do a very good job of getting the ball inside around the basket against their zone. You get the win, you move on and you start getting ready for the next game."
"For us, it's the next game. I don't care who's on your schedule, we treat it the same. I know our players will be excited and our fans should be excited, what a great opportunity for our program, but we have to approach it as we would whoever is next. Let's take today, let's learn what we did well, what we didn't do well and apply it to the next one and make sure we do a great job getting ready to play on Saturday."
"Almost every game one of our bigs is in foul trouble, luckily we have some depth. Maybe I should play guys with two fouls a little bit more but today I wanted to get Thomas de Thaey some minutes. That's the reason I didn't put Calvin in early. We had Calvin in foul trouble and then we get Richard in foul trouble, we're battling that with those guys. We have to defend better, move our feet better without fouling."
