Bell changing summer schedule

After hurting his knee this summer, Jack Britt (NC) running back George Bell, who has a Terp offer, wanted to attend camps this summer to watch the teams. That could change beginning this weekend.

Perhaps the best running back in North Carolina, and one of the best in the nation, is Jack Britt (NC) RB George Bell, but to some his offer list has been paltry. To those who know Bell personally, his offer list, and surgically repaired knee, are actually ahead of schedule.

"I just got an offer East Carolina," says the 5-foot-11, 225 pounder. As to a leader, Bell admits "it is between Virginia Tech and NC State, but that could change really quickly. I am not ready to commit because I want to take some visits."

The reason it could change is that teams are currently sitting on the fence awaiting doctors to give Bell a clean bill of health from his ACL tear last season. That announcement could loom around the corner as Bell, who was not slated to participate in any camps, will make a dual-visit this weekend.

"I just changed that because I am going to get a doctor's note this weekend. I am going to Duke on Friday to visit the doctor, and then go to their camp on Saturday."

Simply an amazing comeback as Bell, who is already running fly routes and other non-pad events in individual workouts, has several camps already lined up.

"I am going to Michigan the 15-19 of June if (DE teammate Jeff) Bush goes to that one. I am going to North Carolina the 21st, Virginia the 28, and I am trying to get up to Virginia Tech just to visit the campus."

There is a method to the madness as Bell plans to show off in front of the teams who have yet to offer, which excludes NC State.

"I have already visited them, but I want to visit Blacksburg to see how I like the campus."

Bell admits that several other schools have piqued his interest.

"I like Miami, but they have not offered. I also like a lot of the schools on the West Coast, but they all wanted to see how my knee came back. Those types of teams could change my leaders."

Bell may have to decide before the end of the year as he will leave high school early.

"We are still in school now, getting out later this month, but they are going to get out in May next year. I won't be there, because I just have to take an english and a math class. I am going to graduate early and enroll in January."
