Recruiting Scene: There were high expectations for Stocker prior to his arrival at NC State's football camp last summer and he didn't disappoint. He threw well, showed good mobility and impressed the coaching staff with his background and personality. Once the Wolfpack had completed summer camp, they quickly identified Stocker as their number one quarterback and made their offer. After talking to his family, Stocker committed to NC State.
Why NC State?: "They called me this morning to offer me as a quarterback, and I talked it over with my family. They told me that I'm the No. 1 quarterback on their board and that meant a lot to me. I called them back and let them know that I wanted to be on the team.
"Coach O'Brien told me he was excited to have me... he welcomed me to the team."
Picked NC State Over: Cincinnati, Temple
Scouting Report: "If Stocker were taller he would likely be receiving more attention as a pure quarterback prospect as opposed to just an athlete. He is a well built prospect that looks like a wide receiver. He plays in a scheme where he is asked to make many throws both from within the pocket and out as well as significant play-action snaps.
"He is a good athlete- a true dual-threat, but clearly a passer first. He has very good mechanics overall. He gets back and sets up quickly and carries the ball high in the pocket. He is calm and balanced and sees the field well considering his lack of height.
"He has very good quickness and he can buy time in the pocket with his movement and shows the ability to avoid the rush. He is a threat when he pulls the ball down as he has the elusiveness to make people miss." -- ESPN
