Projected Position At NC State: Defensive End

Stats: Had 35 tackles, two forced fumbles and two sacks as a senior

Accolades: Rated a three-star prospect and the No. 45 player in North Carolina by ESPN...named all-conference

Commit Date: August 4, 2011

Recruiting Scene: Wright burst onto the scene at NC State when he wowed those in attendance with a stellar 4.8-second 40-yard dash in front of the Wolfpack coaches. That speed combined with a tremendous frame and potential made the decision to extend a scholarship offer a fairly easy one for the State coaches.

Wright actually mulled the offer for several weeks before deciding to jump on the Wolfpack's pledge. Although he did entertain interest from Wake Forest, East Carolina and others during his senior year, Wright remained committed to the Wolfpack.

Why NC State? "I've been thinking about [committing] and it came to me the other day that it was the best school for me. I called today and told the coaches that I wanted to commit. They were excited... they wanted me bad.

"State has a really good program. I think it will be a great fit for me. I can go in and help them out, plus I think it's a good school. I also really like the coaches."

Picked NC State Over: East Carolina

Scouting Report: "Wright is a tremendous athlete, who showed good quickness and agility. The N.C State commit played both sides of the ball and rarely came off the field. However, it is on the defensive side of the ball where Wright is at his best. The tall, rangy senior has a good first step at line of scrimmage.

"He has all the tools to be a major contributor for the Wolfpack down the road. The senior has the frame to easily add 50 pounds when he gets to Raleigh. Wake Forest and East Carolina are still actively recruiting him." -- Scout.com analyst Michael Clark
