Coach's Scouting Report
Shadrach Thornton

"We fell in love with Shadrach [Thornton]. He is a great kid, and he's going to be a great leader for this football team. He's a really good football player. He's the kind of guy that is going to help this football program for a long time." -- NC State Head Coach Tom O'Brien

"He's a big, physical running back. That's number one and that's what we need. Again, you earmark certain players for certain spots and that's what we've done over the years and he gives us that big running back but he's very skillful. He can run it, he can catch it. He can block. He can blitz protect and all those things. He's not going to be able to do that right away. But down the road he's capable physically of doing all those things.

"Besides that, he's just a great person. If you met him, the first time you meet him he's one of those guys you feel like you've known forever. He has that type of charismatic personality. And those things are worth their weight in gold both on the field and with the team in the locker room." -- NC State Recruiting Coordinator Jerry Petercuskie
