Manning was serious about playing basketball until he one day realized his size might be better suited for football. "I've been 6'3" my whole life!" he laughs.
As he stands in this position, just weeks away from potentially hearing his name called, it's clear that Manning made the right choice.
"I was happy with my decision and I'm still happy now. There's no better place than North Carolina State," says Manning.
After enjoying a successful collegiate career in which he never lost to rival North Carolina, Manning is preparing for the next chapter of his life: the NFL.
"It really hasn't hit me yet," he says. "I guess when it hits me it will be a big day for me."
Though he might not be the highest rated linebacker in the 2012 class, Manning has a chip on his shoulder and is ready to prove himself to anyone who may doubt him.
With all the hard work and time he's put into training, what would it mean to Manning to hear his name called on Draft Day?
"You couldn't put a price on it," he says.
