NC State Postgame Press Conference

ATLANTA, GA -- NC State's Mark Gottfried, Scott Wood, and Lorenzo Brown met with the media after the win over Boston College.

Mark Gottfried:
"Anytime you win in the tournament it is good and you get to advance. We're happy, I'm happy, but at the same time I feel we can play a lot better."

"We got a lead and we didn't have that same energy level from about the seven-minute mark of the first half for a long time."

"We're excited to win but at the same time I feel like we can play a lot better than we did today."

"It's hard to tell. We wish we had a crystal ball and can look in there and tell us exactly. For us, we need to continue to win, I don't know if that is one game, two games, three games... I do know that if we win the tournament we get to go."

"Our guys, that's our goal, to win the tournament."

"There are just some things you can't control. Our job is to do the best job we can and then go from there."

"I think Virginia is really good, and I think they are going to go to the NCAA Tournament. I think they've had a great year. I'll say this, as everybody likes to sing their song, we had the same record in the league. We've played a great non-conference schedule, and when you look at the strength of schedule, ours is obviously much higher. They beat us at our gym. It was a one-point game."

"For us, it is a golden opportunity. Again, I don't think for us it is fair to put everything on one game, whether it is them or whomever it may be."

"We play a short bench too so, it is what it is at this point in the year. You can't re-invent your team in March... Tony has done a good job with all of that."

"I think tomorrow is going to be a great basketball game. In my opinion, two good teams and both teams deserve to be in the NCAA Tournament."

"They practice too and they are good at what they do. They like to use a lot of clock and they like those games in the 50's, maybe hit 60."

"We just have to make sure, however the game is played, when we are in the halfcourt to really execute well too. We had a lot of shots in the first half of that first game that we didn't make."

Lorenzo Brown:
"The last game was a tough loss for us, but I think we're going to come in here with a different type of attitude and play our hearts out."

"I saw the point guard, he turned his head and looked at his coach. I guess he forgot I was there... he left the ball behind him and I just reached over and grabbed the ball."

"I don't think we lost focus, I just think they started to hit some tough shots. I'm sure we could have played better defense, but they hit a lot of tough shots."

"For me it's about making sure we execute our offense the correct way."

Scott Wood:
"I think we left a lot of opportunities out there... if we play our game and execute on offense and defense we'll be a tough matchup."

"Obviously I didn't play well [in the four-game losing streak] and I felt like I let the team down in a lot of areas."

"It's big. For any player, once you see a couple go in you start to get that confidence and once you see those two go in you feel like you can do anything."
