NC State may not be at the top of Larenz Bryant's list but the four-star linebacker isn't ruling out the Wolfpack, either.
The same can't be said of other in-state schools. The 6-2, 210-pound Vance High School standout told Pack Pride over the weekend that he's not considering North Carolina. He is considering NC State, however.
"I'm looking at NC State and I'm looking at South Carolina if you're talking about schools just outside (his list of favorites)," Bryant explained.
So what schools are at the top of his list? Bryant cited programs such as Clemson, Florida, Oregon, Georgia and the Virginia schools but was quick to point out that he's trying to keep an open mind.
"I've been to NC State," Bryant said. "I think that was a couple of months ago. We had like the Top 25 players in the state up there for a photo shoot and I did an interview up there. I got to meet with all of the coaches and got a tour of the facilities. That was actually my first trip up to Raleigh.
"I really liked NC State. I got to meet the head coach and talk to him and he seemed like a good guy."
Bryant is ranked the No. 9 outside linebacker in the nation, according to Scout.com.
What will be the biggest factors in his decision?
"Just how good the school is, what their classes are like and my major," he said.
Bryant plans on majoring in communications in college. He will probably wait until later this year or close to Signing Day before he makes his choice.
