Tight end Chris Burton attended NC State's last junior day and now he's thinking about another trip to Raleigh.
The Danville (VA) George Washington prospect could crack some Top 25 lists in Virginia whenever those rankings come out and he's already got offers from NC State, Texas Tech and VMI.
On top of that Burton is supposed to be contacting coaches from Vanderbilt and Pitt in the near future. The Pack, in particular, appears to be in a very strong position with the 6-3, 240-pound prospect.
"I went up there for their junior day and that was the last time I was there," Burton told Pack Pride.
"I thought it went great. I got a chance to talk to Coach (Tom) O'Brien and toured the facilities. It was wonderful."
Both O'Brien and the facilities really seem to have made an impact for State. In fact, those are two of the reasons he's anxious to return.
"Coach O'Brien is a great man and he's all about business," he explained. "They weren't pressuring me. They're letting me do everything on my own basically. They just told me they want me to get a feel for how NC State is. I liked it so I'll be going back up there soon.
"The facilities were excellent. I liked how everything is basically new with the football facilities."
Would he consider the Wolfpack his favorite?
"I don't know," he said before pausing. "I'm trying to keep my options open."
As a junior, Burton caught 16 passes for 315 yards.
