Early in the process he was hearing from strictly mid-major programs. Not anymore.
He's been to Wisconsin and Marquette on unofficial visits. This week, he's camping at Iowa and you know the Hawkeyes will get a chance to spend some time with him as well.
Two weeks ago, he played at a tournament in Omaha and was able to see Creighton's campus. He's been offered by Drake, Wyoming and Northern Illinois. North Carolina State has shown interest in him as have Iowa State, Florida State and Utah.
Recently both of the visits to Wisconsin and Marquette went over well. At Wisconsin, the Badgers have one scholarship for Binnie's position. Wisconsin has committed to seeing Binnie at a number of events this summer.
Marquette's visit went well too. The Golden Eagles could have two spots available for a wing guy like Binnie. They're looking for someone who can really score as they must replace some of the firepower Dwayne Wade was responsible for.
"I think he's wanting to make sure that he finds some coaches who like him as a person and think he can be an impact player for them," Binnie's father said. "It's just kind of a mixed feeling of emotions. We're kind of excited."
