State, UM to Battle In ACC/Big Ten Challenge

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State will face Michigan in the 2012 edition of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge presented by Dick's Sporting Goods. The Wolfpack and Wolverines will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at Michigan's Crisler Arena.

This will be the third time NC State and Michigan have met in the Challenge with the Wolverines winning the first contest, 68-61, in Ann Arbor in 2003 and the Pack taking the return engagement in Raleigh, 74-67, in 2006. NC State is 5-7 all-time in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and 3-2 all-time in contests with Michigan.

"Our team is excited to play in a prestigious event like the ACC/Big Ten Challenge," head coach Mark Gottfried said. "This could be a match up of two potentially ranked teams and those are types of games we want to participate in."

The Pack is one of nine teams featured in this year's event that are ranked in the ESPN's early preseason polls. NC State is ranked No. 6, while Michigan is ranked No. 5.

All 12 games of the 14th edition of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge will be aired on a combination of ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU. The two-day event will feature some of the nation's top college basketball programs as they play for conference supremacy and the Commissioners Cup.

All 12 games will also be available via WatchESPN, which delivers live access to ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3 on PCs, smartphones and tablets to fans who receive ESPN's linear networks as part of their video subscription from Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks or Verizon FiOS TV.

Times and networks for all games are to be determined.
