Colorado selected Ryan Warner in the Compensation Round B of the 2012 MLB draft. He was the No. 128 overall pick in the draft.
Warner, a 6-foot-7 right-handed pitcher from Pine Creek (CO), inked with the Wolfpack in the fall. As a senior he was named Colorado's Gatorade Player of the Year after posting a 7-1 record on the mound with 89 strikeouts in 51 innings.
Warner, who also tossed a no-hitter and a one-hitter, also batted .493 with six home runs and 31 RBIs for Pine Creek High School.
Phillips, a standout centerfielder for Seminole (FL) High School, was picked in the sixth round by the Houston Astros with the No. 189 overall pick.
A speedy outfielder with an above-average arm, some considered Phillips to be the Wolfpack's top pro prospect and a few media outlets expected him to be selected in the first four rounds.
