Two-Sport Star Likes the Wolfpack

Richmond (VA) George Wythe Wide Receiver Tyree Evans has several options to choose from over the upcoming months. He has to pick a college, but will he also be deciding on what sport he will play?

"No, I like both sports the same and will try to play them both in college," Tyree Evans told StateFans. "I've played football the longest but I don't think I'm going to have to choose which to play."

Evans excelled last year at George Wythe in both sports, with nearly 1000 yards and 13 Touchdowns as a Wide Receiver and averaging 22.5 PPG on the hardwood as a 6-foot-2 shooting guard. This weekend, basketball is on the table, as he is heading to a prestigious camp.

"I'm suppose to be going to the NIKE camp this weekend and I think I'll do good there. I played at the Bob Gibbons Tournament and made the All-Tourney Team. I think I averaged about 30 a game down there."

While schools are showing interest, Tyree is in no hurry to choose.

"I'm wide open right now and don't even have a list. There are just some schools I like. I grew up liking Nebraska in football and Michigan State in basketball. I also like Cincinnatti alot because they have been recruiting me."

As for the Wolfpack, Evans believes he has been offered in both, but he's not too sure.

"I think NC State has offered me in both but my coaches handle that. I do like them as a team and they play in the ACC so that's good."

Evans is a two-sport star who could end up being a success at both. We love his upside on the gridiron and as a shooting guard. He has the potential to be a star!
