Cotton has Big Plans for Next Year

Linebacker Quentin Cotton is changing schools next year and he hopes it leads to better things on the gridiron and in the classroom.

"I'm transferring to Glenn next year because it's better for me academically," Quentin Cotton told StateFans. "They have the SAT program I can take and it should help me get the scores I need to go to college."

Cotton had a great season last year, posting 104 tackles and 30 TFL from the middle linebacker position. However, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 215, colleges like him on the edge.

"The schools are recruiting me as an outside linebacker because of my size and quickness. Some have even mentioned me playing Defensive End."

"I have offers from Maryland, Duke, ECU, [North] Carolina, Clemson, and Wake Forest. State's showing me some interest too along with some other schools."

With such an impressive offer list, does any school standout at the moment?

"I would say Wake Forest is my leader because of them being close to home. But Carolina is recruiting me the hardest and have told me how much they want me so I like them too."

As far as the Wolfpack, they have always been on Cotton's mind.

"Well, I grew up a fan of NC State. I just like the way they do things and they are recruiting me but haven't offered yet. Coach Cignetti came by my school and he's a cool guy."

And what if the Wolfpack put forth an offer?

"[Laughing] That's a tough one. If NC State decided to offer I would have to look at that real hard and just might take it."

Cotton is in no rush to decide, but he has a timeframe in mind.

"I hope to have a school picked by December. I just think that will be the best time for me to decide."
